Her tone was created using @guytang @guytang_mydentity 35g 10DL + 5g 8DL. ? To learn about the technique I used, keep reading! ?
First I want to say, if you have a technique that works for you, right on. You do you. ✌️️For me, I've found this as the best way to gently and evenly lift the hair to all over platinum. ✨I use a gentle lightener with a low developer and foil 1/8" sections, leaving about a 1/4" at the root untouched. When everything is foiled, I go back and slide my foil down to reveal the root and apply on the scalp to the line of demarcation. ✨
The reason I wait to do the roots last is because the heat of the head will make it process faster and this way I get the even lift I want throughout without having hot roots. After everything is done processing and looks like the pale yellow found in the inside of a ?, I pretone with a violet based toner to neutralize the yellow and make it as white as possible. Once I have my perfect canvas, I then apply my final tone. ?
