✨Note: reading this comment section is traumatic, and makes me very sad. I can't believe how deep people's misunderstanding of privilege runs. Its not a personal insult, there's no need to get defensive. I can only assume why so many people are getting defensive is the association of "privilege" with not working for what they have. But it's a much bigger/complicated issue, which I feel isn't taught or talked about enough, therefore is maybe why it's so misunderstood. Regardless, it's a reality to be aware of, because it effects how we think, see, and understand the world around us. This shouldn't be a controversial post, but look at all these hateful angry comments. How we aren't all on the same page of - needing to stand up for those who are oppressed, is sad to me.
?And to everyone saying I'm privileged therefore I have no right to comment on this issue, I say - I may not be walking in their shoes, but I can see them walking, and so should you.
