Curator Megan Fontanella's provenance research on Vincent van Gogh's "Mountains at Saint-Rémy" (1889), led her to an intriguing path. The work made more than one transatlantic journey, and passed through a number of private hands, before landing on the walls of the Guggenheim museum in 1965. Following several decades on frequent display in our Thannhauser Gallery located off the central rotunda space, Van Gogh’s painting is on view in #GuggVisionaries through September 6.
