Happy #InternationalCatDay from @KuliTheSurfingCat. ? This brave soul is a one-eyed adventure-seeking feline named Nānākuli.

His owner, @proantagonist, and favorite photographer, @kriista named him after the small town where he was found, and call him Kuli for short. When they adopted him, he had just lost his eye to infection and weighed less than a pound. It took them over a month to nurse him back to health. By training him to walk on a leash and slowly introducing him to the natural world, they quickly discovered that Kuli was eager to join in on their active lifestyle. "Rarely will you see us leave the house on a weekend adventure without Kuli jumping in the beach bag and coming along for the ride - whether it’s surfing, hiking, or cruising around the island."

Kuli has learned to swim and hitches a ride on both women’s backs while they paddle out. His family is cautious to take him out only when the conditions are safe, but his disability hasn’t stopped him from living a bigger life!
