? @jakeandersonphotography "I really put my gear through some pretty challenging situations, I've broken a lot of gear but I shoot anything and everything I can no matter the conciquences. The shot is the be all and end all for me and I will pretty much do what ever it takes to get that. In this instance I spotted a candid moment and picked my camera up and with out fail everything worked perfectly. I was in freezing conditions with intense direct sun and my cameras never skipped a beat. The ability to rely on my gear gives me confidence to continue to push my own boundaries as I grow as an outdoors person and a photographer. I saw this moment where I felt humanity was dwarfed by the enormity of nature, a starkness in a way, a situation that highlights how beautiful the planet is, yet how small and insignificant we are. I picked my camera up and I took that photo. Photography is a gift to me, it enables me to tell stories and to hopefully encourage positive change, to move people and to hopefully effect them emotionally. I was given a Nikon as my first camera, a gift that has changed my life and is something I hold very dear.
