I'm sharing this on behalf of a fan, as I have family & friends who are affected by Lupus... As an amazing mother, wife, sister, family member, and friend, Rayel Stokes-Smith stood strong in her fight against Lupus. Although she lost this battle, she never let it define her. In Rayel’s dear memory, we want to support, strengthen, and empower the many Lupus Warriors suffering from this unpredictable disease. We want to work to find a resolution for this disease so that families all over the world no longer have to endure the unending struggles and potential losses caused by Lupus and the life-threatening afflictions and diseases Lupus may trigger. Though many indicators are invisible to the naked eye, we must educate ourselves on the harsh toll Lupus can have on an individual and a family. We must support those in need.

Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.

Lupus can be difficult to diagnose because its signs and symptoms often mimic those of other ailments.
