@pie_aerts After 4 days of torrential Alpine rain, we decided to escape the valley and go all-in this morning on Val Gardena. Although the forecast had been going back and forth, we started the ascent at 0300am in pitch black darkness.
Making our way up through waist-deep snow for several hours, we quickly realized the entire ridge would be covered in thick mist. We continued nonetheless and when getting to the summit right before sunrise, for one brief moment, the sky opened up and Val Seceda showed us the money. However, minutes later, clouds pulled together from all sides and dropped a mad snowstorm. As a result we literally got blown off the mountain in a total whiteout.
I guess oftentimes it's worth taking the risk. #watchthisinstagood #beautifuldestinations
