Happy to be at Kingsbarns for the British Open this week. Its hands down one of my favorite courses and one of the best courses in the world. My intention is to play this week, but I will have to see how I feel thru out the week as I ease my way back into golf again. Ive been forced to bed rest the last two weeks following the US Open. Just before the US Open I got sick but I thought Id be fine in just a few days. Playing the US Open ended up being a nightmare feeling the way I did, but unknown of why, I battled thru it and refused to give up. Sunday of US Open I found out I have Glandular fever, also known as Mono or Körtelfeber. I had no choice but to WD from last weeks event in Scotland and because of this, it ment I failed to meet the 6 minimum tournament requirement to make the Solheim Cup off the rankings. I will now instead have to rely on a captains pick on Sunday to make the team. Disappointing because I really wanted to play my way onto Annika's team. As of now my main goal is to get healthy. I fully understand the severity of Mono and the consequences it may bring when pushing to hard to early. I understand it can take weeks, up to months to be fully recovered, but I also know its different from person to person. I have a great supportive team around me and a great doctor who is helping me thru this process. Thank you to everyone who reached out with advise and concerns. As of now, Ive seen major improvements the last few weeks when I stopped all training and activity, so Im going to take it day by day. I hope to tee it up on Thursday and Im not going to do anything forward that would risk my longterm health. ?
