To our followers in Abu Dhabi—#TheCreativeAct closes at Manarat Al Saadiyat tomorrow, July 29. On our blog, we went behind the scenes of "Do Art, Do It Now!"—a 21st century Fluxus festival presented in conjunction with the exhibition. Organized with artists Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, and Hesam Rahmanian, this community-oriented event combined theatre, fashion, poetry, and music. The evening's lineup included Emirati-Japanese drumming trio Kharsha, spoken-word group Rooftop Rhythms, local and student actors, fashion students from Zayed University, NYU Abu Dhabi’s Attitude Dance Society, and DJs Basil Al Hadi, Hussein Karim, and Daniil Prutnik. For the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi team, the event perfectly evoked the iterative, inclusive practice of the three artists who inspired the "Do Art, Do It Now!" program. "We were able to bridge communities that might otherwise stay separate," said Rose Demir, Associate Director of Education and Community Outreach, Abu Dhabi Project.
