Most sharks are solitary right? Wrong, many are social and spend much of their day in groups. These can be with individuals of the same species, sex or age / size. Check out these scalloped hammerheads filmed at Cocos Island, Costa Rica during Shark Week show #sharkstorm. They are one of the most social species out there and can form schools, several 1000 sharks strong. They congregate at seamounts during the day and feed offshore at night. They can even communicate with each other via head shakes, exaggerated body movements and lowering their pectoral fins. This dive is definitely on my to do list !! Video: @tristanguttridge
