@sakuradragon: Watercolors can be a difficult medium to pick up. Before learning about the water brush, I was never able to paint. The water brush behaves like a marker and has a substantial amount of water, which eliminated the stressful aspects of a traditional brush.
My rule of thumb when working with watercolors: Think first, colors second. If you want colors to gradually blend, it’s best to add the colors while the paper is still wet. If you want a hard edge, wait for the paper to be completely dry. Remember, all paper types have different personalities so it’s important to use heavier paper that is designed to hold a lot of water.
