This is Bbucca, an explosive detection canine working at the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) checkpoint.
TSA has 20 integrated components working together to keep travelers safe. We call those components our Layers of Security and Bbucca is just one of those layers.
We’ll be posting a video later this week about the 20 layers. Keep an eye on our blog (link in the profile) this week to watch the video.
Do you know why certain TSA canines’ names are spelled using the first letter of the name twice? That’s an indicator that the dog was named after a 9/11 victim.
Bbucca was named in honor of Fire Marshall Ronald Paul Bucca who was killed in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
