One of my fave chin up preparation exercises...Hanging Shoulder Shrugs! ?? @goodlifehc
This is a great way to build strength in the muscles around the scapula (shoulder blade).
The key is to focus on slowly pulling your shoulders AWAY from your ears and then relaxing and letting your shoulders move towards your ears >> Most pulling exercises should stem from activating the scapula FIRST, then your arm should activate second and continue the movement ? exercises like lat pull down, seated rows, one arm rows/pulls and chin ups/pull ups all use this 2 part movement.
Think of your scapula as the anchor of your upper body exercises! ⚓️ the stronger they are the easier, more effective, and safer your training will be! ??
