After some inclement weather grounded them in Bali, @kirstie_ennis and the @theheroesproject expedition have made it to their first camp below Carstensz Pyramid (16,024'). Socked in with rain and clouds again at 12,000 feet, the team will try to move to their planned basecamp at 13,000 feet soon to stay on schedule. Weather is unpredictable in Western Papua. However the downtime provides a great opportunity to connect with the local Dani tribespeople who will serve as porters on the expedition. There have been a lot of inquisitive looks toward Kirstie's blonde hair and prosthetic.
