My heart's heavy today with the passing of my mentor and actor Martin Landau.
When I first came to LA 4 years ago I wanted to have a look at the Actor's Studio and before I knew it I had a meeting with Marty Landau. I quite honestly didn't know who he was but my friend said I should go.
I ended up having a two hour conversation with him about acting and life and I have never been more inspired about the work.
I started taking classes almost every day and became a lifetime member in the next few years. The Actor's Studio became a second home to me ?
Of all the times Marty moderated acting sessions, there are too many memorables moments to even mention. He talked about the uncertainty of life and how we are all, at any moment just trying to figure out how to live it, not knowing. About how fragile we are. But also, the importance of trust. To trust yourself, so you can trust the other, to trust yourself. In the work and in life. Even when you don't know..
Marty, the Actor's Studio won't be the same without you. I am forever greatful for the wisdom and wonder you have shared with us. Rest in peace ?? #martinlandau
