Sorry long post ⚠ . Super grateful to be paced by my husband for a 2.00.68 result at the Devon Open in Plymouth today. Sam paced me to about 700 then ran next to me down the home straight cheering me on, letting me cross the line before him (why are guys so much faster?! Haha). . Such an awesome meet from young kids to masters athletes (very inspiring) reminding me of where my passion for running blossomed as a little girl at my local track in Christchurch, New Zealand. . Had a very sore back leading into this race after pulling it in the gym on Friday (only 2 days before the race) and only made the call to go race this morning, still hurt in warm-up but decided I didn't think it would make it worse to race. . So grateful that God helped heal it quickly and helped me to remain positive. Just one example of the ups and downs along the way that come with this sport and also reminds me to appreciate the good ones as there are also times where you are upset with your result and want to hide in some igloo in the Artic for a couple days. . Yes it's only sport but you work so hard for it, day in and day out that disappointment is hard to take - but makes you grow, learn, become a stronger person and work harder to do better next time. . Loved chasing Sam around the track! Encouraging to have gone through in a faster first lap after some slow first laps in my recent races and was about 128 high at 600m, just slowed a bit in the last 100m but still happy with this race at a smaller but awesome meet with the guys! . Although it wasn't quite sub 2 it was one of my best races this season and faster than I ran at the London Diamond League last Sunday! . Really excited for World Champs, which start in 2.5 weeks time! . Thanks so much to everyone who helped me be here!! . Off to the New Zealand pre camp in Cardiff on Tuesday! . #800m #lovetorun #allglorytoGod #roadtolondon
