contemporary christian culture in the united states makes me insane.
i just read about a famous american pastor who won't perform marriage services for same sex couples.
out of respect for 'biblical teaching.'
huh, cos i used to teach bible study, and here's what jesus said about gay marriage and homosexuality: NOTHING.
but jesus did condemn: divorce, war, wealth, anger, judgementalism, violence, and self-righteous religious leaders and believers.
so you have right wing republican christians worked up about gay marriage(which jesus didn't mention), and happily
embracing wealth, divorce, judgementalism, war, the death penalty, taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich,
and excluding refugees(all things that jesus explicitly condemned).
it's safe to say that in most right wing, conservative christian culture there is NOTHING that is actually based on the teachings
of christ.
right wing conservative christianity is nothing but cruel, judgemental hypocrisy.
