U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley stepped up pressure on China on Wednesday in the wake of North Korea's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile. In remarks at an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council, Haley said "the world has become a more dangerous place" and called on Beijing to promote peace. ⠀

"The United States is prepared to use the full range of our capabilities to defend ourselves and our allies. One of our capabilities lies with our considerable military forces. We will use them if we must," Haley said. "Much of the burden of enforcing sanctions rest with China; 90% of trade with North Korea is from China."⠀
