More and more, summer jobs historically done by vacationing students are being taken by older Americans forced to extend their working lives, or foreigners looking for their chance.⠀

77% of high school students are interested in volunteering to gain work experience. That is, working to put a line on a résumé, or college application, but no actual pay. The Jersey Shore boardwalks still rely on students, who are harder to find. ⠀
