On Monday I turned thirty. THIRTY! 30. I was a little freaked out last month, but now I feel amazing. I may not have the things we're told we're supposed to have as women at this age. I'm not married. I don't have kids. I don't own a house. But I have accomplished a fucking lot in my life. I have overcome addiction and body dysmorphia, depression, the death of both my parents. I established a life for myself in New York City on my own and have created a successful career in an industry that didn't really want me to begin with. In the past four days I have hiked over 64 miles and climbed the equivalent of 750 floors. Aging is cool you guys! With every year I feel like I get better, smarter, more forgiving and understanding, yet more steadfast in my beliefs. You can dictate your life and the way it plays out however you want. Don't let anyone tell you who or what you should be. Decide for yourself! I almost felt like I should keep the fact that I turned 30 a secret, afraid that it would alienate clients or make me seem less desirable in the fashion industry. But in the end, what I really think is FUCK THAT. Be proud of who you are! The women I most admire are unflinching in their honesty. May we all strive to be that. I hope that I can continue to learn and grow from the women that have come before me. To thirty more years and then thirty more! ✨?? #thisis30
