Last night I had the honor to perform at the @musiccares benefit recognizing Adam Clayton of @U2 for his music and distinguished service helping other musicians who are healing from addiction.

I was asked by the band to play one of my old songs from my Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy days, Television The Drug Of The Nation which was used by U2 to start their ZooTV Tour shows each night.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also played 11:59 and a rework of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday in which I dropped a rap in the middle of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was a beautiful night highlighted by Adam's ever humble speech in which he openly discussed his journey to sobriety.

Afterwards we all went to dinner and late night conversation about music, heart and the state of the world when this moment of fun broke out with Bono and I.

U2 have always been my favorite rock band - in part because they are at once highly evolved, well read, serious students of culture, politics and the soul and at the same time know the importance of having a good laugh whenever it's necessary!
