American artist Kerry James Marshall is the subject of a new @phaidonsnaps-published book, the first major survey of his 35-year career. Marshall’s work places focus on the overlooked status of African Americanhood through groundbreaking figurative paintings, many of which riff on racial stereotypes and political commentary.
