Flashback Friday to one of the first bikinis I ever made for breast cancer awareness & football season? I sold a ton of bikinis this week and it's got me feeling some type of way ?
When I started designing and making these little babies, it was strictly for me. I never imagined anyone would want to wear what I was making, let alone buy them. I did it out of boredom- I had just gone through a really bad break up and needed something to occupy my mind. I was going through this phase of not feeling good enough, pretty enough, fit enough, worthy enough..all kinds of feels (when life gives you lemons ?). Also, I wanted to wear stuff that would stand out- stuff I knew I wouldn't see on anyone else, so, I put my imagination to work and just started creating and posting pics on here. People would ask me where they could purchase what I was wearing, and I finally became confident enough in what I was making to start selling my bikinis. Every time I get an order for a bikini, it takes me back to some of my best childhood summertime memories, when I would sit with my best friend at our little homemade lemonade stand, feeling like a couple of girl bosses. We would get so excited each time we sold a glass of lemonade for 50 cents, you'd think we were making millions. It didn't matter how much money we were making (obviously it wasn't much), but we were having fun doing it and we were proud of ourselves, we felt productive. That being said, I'm pretty proud of myself this week and wanted to thank everyone on here who has supported and encouraged me to stick with my hobby of creating little wearable masterpieces ? and I hope this reaches anyone who needs a little bit of encouragement today.
