Hey! Happy Thursday! I shared some of my best tips for staying on top of your mental health the other day. If you are going through a difficult time, working through pain or just want to keep some extra tools for balance and happiness in your toolbox... Here are my best tips: 1 - OPEN UP. Sharing how we feel is the most important part when it comes to emotional balance. Pain grows in the dark so let it out! Talk to friends, family, or see a mental health professional. I find that baring my soul when things get heavy immediately makes me feel lighter. Also, it reminds us that we are not alone. 2 - JOURNAL. Get into the habit of journaling! Getting your thoughts and emotions down on paper is a great way to release things that might be bothering us and it can help us get a new perspective. Also, it's a quiet moment to give yourself space to reflect about the day. Light a candle, make a cup of tea and write! It's a beautiful routine to keep. 3 - GRATITUDE. When things get tough it's important to remember that we still have beauty present in our lives. Make a list of ten things you are grateful for every day! It could be something as simple as the taste of coffee in the morning, your pet, a loved one... Beauty is all around - don't forget it. 4 - SWEAT. Get out of your head and into your body. Moving our bodies is a great way to clear our heads and it helps to bring our awareness into the present moment. Get into the habit of moving your body every single day whether it's going for a run, practicing yoga, walking your dog or having a dance party in your living room. 5 - MEDITATE. Spending just five minutes sitting in silence focusing on your breath in the morning can turn a whole day around. Most of the problems we are pondering and issues we are dealing with are amplified by the mind - what happens when you dive into silence? Allow yourself to be. Watch what comes up. Remember that you are an integral part of this world and everything you are feeling is valid! We all feel the same things, just not always at the same time. Everything you are is good enough. If you know someone who could use a little bit of support and love... Tag them below. xo❤
