View from my window: wood water tanks juxtaposed against the Empire State. Tanks provide gravity fed drinking and bathing water to buildings over 6 stories high. Though they may like like a relic from the past, wood tanks are actually preferred over steel for their insulating properties (cooler in summer, warmer in winter) as well as lower cost.
