It's sad that the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) allows declawing at their "Cat Friendly" practices. ? #greed #shameful
There is nothing "friendly" about barbarically amputating a kitten's or a cat's toe bones and claws and causing it a lifetime of some sort of pain and suffering. ?Cats need their toes and claws for so many aspects of their health and well-being and there are many humane and common sense alternatives like nail trims, sturdy scratching posts, soft paws, etc.. AAFP should call their practices that declaw, "Cat Unfriendly" practices, don't you think?Here's a "Cat Friendly" practice in Iowa that promotes declawing young kittens by posting a video on their facebook page, of a little ragdoll kitten after it was declawed and they say that he is doing "great" after having his toes amputated. ???
Please join us and help educate cat owners about the awful truth about declawing since the majority of declawing vets are deceiving cat owners to believe it's ok to do to their kittens and cats. ???
This vet even has a declaw info on her website that says, "The declaw procedure is a surgical removal of the claw. Contrary to rumors and misinformed sources, declawing is not the removal of any of the actual toe itself, just the claw." ???. Wth!!!?
This is a complete lie my friends. The toe bone or part of the toe bone is ALWAYS amputated with a declaw otherwise the claw will grow back.
