#WonderWoman moved me in ways I didn't know I needed to be moved. I literally wept in the theater, not only at the beauty of seeing a whole tribe of powerful female warriors on the big screen, but at the tragedy that it's taken us this long to put a female superhero front and center. I have been absorbing and adoring pop culture my whole life, rooting for the "good guy" and occasionally enjoying a fierce female co-star, but it didn't really dawn on me until I caught myself welling up watching her kick ass that there has been this massive void in this arena. Of course there have been bad ass females on screen through the years, but the point is, we need more. I was really thrilled to see a strong, smart, sexy, and still baby & ice cream loving heroin up there. Are the beauty standards impossibly high? Yes. But she is a goddess and I think it's less about what she looks like and more about what she stands for, which is realizing your inner strength, embracing your femininity, and proving that you can do both simultaneously.
