Watching the sommelier seriously watch my Dad read the description of this stupid wine, as if my Dad was taking it seriously, pretty much sums up my father. He is messing with you 99% of the time. I couldn't keep it together the way he said "dried cranberries" and, as a grown man, kept a straight face when he said "dustings of spice" and then gave that subtle nod at the end as if he's just read a thoughtful bible passage. My father taught me:
If you're not early, you're late.
Passion for what you do means everything.
Complaining gets you nowhere (unless you are in traffic and yelling)
And most people are fucking morons.
He doesn't have Instagram but I'm sure one of my 3 siblings will show him this. He's a complex man and I love him. Also, while he always get up early to pick you up from the airport but chances are you're gonna have to Uber back to DFW when you leave.
