The attorney general defended the decision to fire former FBI Director James #Comey and claimed that the #Russia investigation did not figure into his recommendation to the president. Sessions declined to answer several questions about his private conversations with President #Trump, and he objected when Sen. Ron Wyden suggested he was stonewalling. When Sen. Joe Manchin asked #Sessions whether he would feel freer to answer their questions in a closed hearing, the attorney general replied, "I am not sure."
