In process towards the 10 year anniversary of #irisvanherpen Couture on July 3rd, we are now highlighting the most inspiring collaborations of our first decade. Canadian architect Philip Beesley has been collaborating with Iris on many of her Couture collections.
Iris: “With his ‘Living Architecture’ studio, Philip is mastering the balance between art, nature and science. When I started collaborating with Philip, I felt wired; it was like seeing undiscovered land. Philip thinks from an architectural perspective, so generally we think in different scales with different techniques. Its precisely that space in between us, is where we find the unforeseen."
Philip: “I remember that in our very first exchanges Iris and I spoke of things at the far edges of perception-- of floating and diving, of dizziness, and of radiant halos. Our ongoing work together lives on those edges. To me, Iris’s curiosity seems boundless, with constant cycling and renewal that creates an extraordinary efflorescence in literally hundreds of interim studies, approaching something very close to natural evolution.”
