Thought I would share one of my favorite images for #worldoceanday2017 as it speaks to what's going on with the Ocean today. 28 billion pounds of plastic ends up in our Ocean each year (gross!) & 70% of the World's oxygen comes from the Ocean. We kill the ocean, we essentially kill ourselves. Every year, in oceans around the world, tens of millions of sharks are hunted and killed. Sharks play a very important role, as they are at the top of the food chain in virtually every part of the ocean. In that role, they keep populations of other fish healthy and in proper proportion for the ocean's ecosystem. There are so many issues with the ocean due to selfish and careless human activity. From overfishing & illegal shark finning, to ocean pollution, coral bleaching, and governments not taking responsibility for environmental ocean laws, we will in turn kill our existence on this planet. There are solutions. Act now and do something. Stop buying plastic everyday or just stop buying it. I know it's hard but just try it. I promise it will feel good. Don't eat fish, it's malnutrition seafood and toxic right now anyways. If you must consume fish, think local. It starts at home first. Educate yourself. Educate others. Wake up. Care. We are so blessed to experience the Ocean on this blue planet, but swimming in plastic is not sexy. #protectwhatisprecious #worldoceanday #iloveyouocean
