Yoga has always been a thing I'd always say I wouldn't try. There were mantras to remembers, poses to perfect and to be frank I'd never really seen anyone that looked like me do yoga.
This past year I worked with @igrowchicago which is a program on the Southside of Chicago of black yogis dedicated to teaching children yoga and mindfulness. Meeting this community changed my mind on a lot. I worked with @lululemonchi to document these individuals and we made something wonderful.
This past week @lululemon selected and flew me and 49 others from around the country in all disciplines to Hana, Hawaii. From basketball players in the NBA to woman in Tech, we all arrived not knowing what to expect. 4 days later all I can say I get it. This was honestly my first class and I purposely didn't tell anyone until after class one of six was complete. I wanted to fit in without doubting myself that I couldn't do this. I completely let myself go and to witness that personally was a beautiful thing. #theimmersionhi
