I have never cried so much watching a show as I did watching #OneLoveManchester. @アリアナ・グランデ was incredibly brave to not only get back on the stage so soon after such a devastating trauma, but to host an incredible show with amazing guests, who were all radiating positivity, hope, and true, pure love. It was like watching the Care Bears stare, beaming their healing light out to the world!
When the children's choir sang it really hit me that it was not only lives that were taken, but innocence lost. It fills me with rage to imagine the evil it takes to see such a horrific attack through. It makes me hateful. But hearing @ケイティ・ペリー sing the words we wrote together in this context gave our songs an entirely new meaning; it was as if I was hearing them for the first time, experiencing them as a person who really needed to hear them in that moment. It was extremely cathartic. I was literally bawling. I heard a lot of songs on that stage that my peers have written or been a part of, and watching the audience, and really, the whole world react, was incredibly powerful for me and reminded me why we do what we do. Being creators and performers is not about fame and money and bright lights; it's about what I witnessed last night... touching people, moving people, and uplifting them in their time of need. I feel honored and privileged to play a small part in that, and I'm proud of all of my songwriter and performer friends who give little pieces of themselves to the world in the name of art, and what it's truly about, which is bringing people together. What a beautiful night, and a stunning demonstration of goodwill toward mankind. Well done everyone!! ❤️❤️❤️
