You were 5 years old in this photo celebrating your sister's 1st birthday. Yikes, 13 years ago!? A long time ago I was blessed by a decision I made that was influenced through another woman who happens to be Jada Pinkett-Smith. I embraced a notion she spoke on that later became more like an adhesive in my family. A blessing. I heard Jada once say while pertaining to her son Trey, that she didn't want to call her son that she inherited through marriage, her "step"son. She didn't like the word step and when she looked it up in the dictionary, there were no words to define the dynamic of their relationship. So....it became "BONUS". I fell in LOVE with the theory because not only did I understand her process, I literally felt the same way towards my daughter who I inherited while LOVING her father. It fit and it felt right✨ I don't knock others for what works for them but this certainly has worked for us.
