The effects of Trump pulling out of the Paris climate agreement will go far beyond just the USA and the earth warming. Global climate change grossly effects those most vulnerable, specifically women and girls most, with less resources available to adapt to a changing environment. Whether finding alternative food sources when theirs disappear, or rebuilding homes destroyed in natural disasters, with less resources to respond, women and the global poor are disadvantaged. Women and girls also are much more vulnerable to violence during natural disasters, and not just in the developing world. For example, during Katrina, gender-based violence, increased 3.5x when women were displaced as a result of the storm. Yesterday's decision has implications far beyond the US and its borders for not only current generations but those to come.
