I understand how hard it can be for us to step outside our everyday lives and see the big picture, but the truth is: the world has never revolved around us. Perhaps we should stop acting like our microscopic lives are the only thing that matter, because Mother Nature does not care what political party we associate with. She doesn't care about our food preferences, the kind of cars we wanna drive, the luxuries we are addicted to, our future goals, the walls we plan to build or the wars we fight. She's not going to wait until the end of time for us to hopefully get our shit together one day - and there's only so much our planet can take before it's forced to mend itself in ways that will really threaten our existence.
Yes. It's a damn shame that the president of this country has withdrawn the U.S. from the Paris accord. It's embarrassing, alarming and tragic.
But [now, more than ever] I think it's important to NOT let his poor decisions discourage us from continuing to try our best.
I wonder how much more it's gonna take before we realize our behavior has made humanity the cancer.
