As sad as it is for us that she's gone, we're not unique in losing a child – what's unique is the outpouring we received. We've created a sanctuary for a six-year-old who loved animals. We're sharing her life and what she stood for. Everything we're doing is about making her legacy live on. We don't want people being sad and heavy. There are still parts of Newtown that are still very hurt, unfortunately. That's why we're so adamant about having an afternoon that's innocent and carefree.
