Let’s get started by talking about one of GoPro's most powerful features, the Burst Mode. #HERO5 Black offers bursts from 5 frames / 6 seconds to 30 frames / 1 second and the high speed burst rates are perfect for making sure we capture the shot at that perfect moment. In this photo of Pat #surfing, I shot 30 frames / 2 seconds because I knew that the frame I was looking for would be within two seconds of me pushing the Shutter button. With that giving me 15 frames / 1 second, I was pretty much guaranteed to capture the moment perfectly. • Photo 2: Sparks + professional skateboarder @greglutzka. Another powerful feature of the HERO5 Black is its ability to shoot long exposures via the Night Photo mode. What I love about this feature is the level of creativity that it opens up, whether that be composing nightscapes or playing with lighting effects such as external flashes. In this shot of Greg #skateboarding, I shot a 30 second exposure during which I had my wife spinning steel wool behind him (A technique used to emit flying sparks). During that exposure I used and an external flash to freeze Greg while doing a #kickflip. • Photo 3: Above #BMX Pro, @mikehucker. This photo of Mike high and twisted upside down is an example of how the GoPro Capture App empowers my photography. I have my #GoPro attached to a 20ft long piece of PVC pipe in order to shoot close to the subject. I was able to compose and fire the 30 frames / 2 second burst thanks to the remote functionality that the Capture App offers - it's perfect for quickly checking your shots to make sure you have your settings, such as ISO or exposure times, correct. • Photo 4: One of the newest additions to the HERO5 is the ability to shoot Camera RAW in Single Photo mode. What this allows is a deeper level of editing when working in programs like @adobe #Photoshop or #Lightroom, which both support the .gpr file format. This is a great setting for when you want to maximize the amount of editing control you have in post.
