Friends: if you haven't yet, please submit a comment in support of Bears Ears National Monument. You have TWO DAYS LEFT to do this for Bears Ears. You have a little longer for the other 26 monuments under "review." The creation of this monument was historic in a positive way.

1. The Bears Ears National Monument designation has been community based and grassroots led by Native people , specifically elders and spiritual leaders
2. This is the first time that tribal sovereign nations have been given collaborative management of their ancestral lands with a federal monument.
3. Largest preservation of archaelogical sites in the US, There are hundreds of thousands
4. Both Native and non native communities can still use the land for medicine, wood gathering, and hunting to preserve their way of life. The comments received may not change the initial outcome (pre-ordained by this administration), but will be an important part of the administrative record and so key to future court cases--which will likely decide the ultimate outcome.
