Hailing from Alabama, Jordan says landing the two roles as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton was a game changer. “Getting on Broadway has been my goal since I joined drama club in fifth grade. When I was 13, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue television and film roles. I booked shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Liv and Maddie, and Teen Wolf. Being on Grease: Live was a massive mile marker [that] ultimately led me to Hamilton. It’s a very powerful show that has spectacular emotional and political relevance. Regardless of how old you are, where you came from, your shade, your creed, or your orientation, you can go see Hamilton and expect one thing and leave with something else entirely. The show turns historical figures into human beings with personalities and flaws. It challenges you to be more understanding and empathetic toward everybody.
