Part 1: For good or for bad, I have spent my life not imitating my heroes, but trying to make sure that if they happen to notice my work, they would be proud of me, that they would say: “That crazy Mexican has IT”. The biggest Blessing of my life by far has been the fact that I have been inspired by the greatest representatives of almost every category of Human endeavors, from Philosophers, to what we call, “Criminals”. The Human spectrum is so vast that whomever identifies with only one category or with only a certain group of categories is bound to be incomplete. We are a reflection of everything, “Good and Bad”. And I have learned that no-one is so perfect as to be idolized and also no one is so wrong as to not learn from him or her. If one puts the self importance on the side and one just observes, one will not stop learning. When Osho was unfairly locked for I believe 9 days in a prison cell, he faced a wall and said: “Wow, the whole Universe is in my cell”. It is just a matter of how focused our awareness is. One of the Humans that I admire the most by far is Steve Jobs. Mediocre people with the “Poor Baby Syndrome” still criticize him, most of them without realizing that they are doing it through an invention made by his company, Apple. And what I Love the most about Steve Jobs is his complexity that as a consequence brought simplicity. He really thought outside the box. All idiots are great at criticizing, that’s very easy to do, but it takes a certain depth in a Human to value something, to have the time to reflect on an object, a sentence, to listen to a Symphony or to admire, not look, at a piece of Art. When I see what Steve Jobs did with Apple, to me, it is like listening to Yo Yo-Ma playing the Cello. So deep, so subtle, so beautiful, but so incredibly Powerful. That’s how I try to live my life…
