Today an important declawing study was published in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. It shows that declawed cats suffer a lifetime of some sort of pain and negative consequences to their health and well-being. ??
This study shows that, ""declawing increases the risk of long-term or persistent pain, manifesting as unwanted behaviors such as inappropriate elimination (soiling/urinating outside of the litter box) and aggression/biting and has health implications for their human companions, as cat bites can be serious."
Many cat owners who defend this inhumane and mutilating procedure say that they can tell that their declawed cats are fine, but cats are notorious for hiding their pain and suffering.
This study proves that declawing is always harmful to the health of a cat and that walking on the amputations causes suffering and pain.
