Profile #3 Mac PART 1 ? Mac was our 3rd addition.
At the time we had only Little and Mika. We never planned on extending our family to 3 cats (let alone 5 lol). At the time, Little was coming to work with me everyday and Mika was not happy about it.
She hated being alone and started pacing, trying to rip open Little's carrier when we got home and was obsessively grooming out of boredom. Finally the vet recommended getting Mika a friend ?. Just so everyone knows...Joe was TOTALLY against getting a third cat. He said NO CHANCE ?
While Joe was adamant about not getting a third cat, he was also the one searching on pet finder and adopt-a-pet, to find Mika's perfect companion. We knew we wanted a handicat but were nervous about changing the dynamic in our household.
We almost adopted a few cats that some of you may know ? We were talking to North Shore about Sophia Stern. This was before we knew Beth would keep her and that she would be soul mates with Charlie Chunk❤️. The second cat we almost adopted was Leonardo AKA Donny. With Donny being blind and having CH, we were concerned about the steps in our house. Donny ended up with the MOST perfect family. We were even privileged enough to meet him and his siblings.
So, At this point we were already looking for a cat for four months and it seemed nothing was working out. We had an eye appointment for Mika in NJ and on the way I told Joe "We need to stop looking, we are not meant to have a third cat at this time". ?
Only 1 hour later, we received an email about a cat called Lone Survivor and he was also in NJ...Just where we happened to be or so I said ? He was actually about 50 minutes away from the vet we were at , but I told Joe it was closer and then just pretended we got lost ?. Just when he wanted to turn back and go home, we arrived ??
The lovely Dr. Houston from @cameronanimalhospital walked into the room holding Lone Survivor (who is now Mac). The first thing she said was "do you want to hold him?" I was in shock. A strange cat is just going to just let me hold him?!?l
