Laurie Metcalf was insanely good, as always. Really rare midnight curtain…producer scott rudin recognized how many tony voters would be in town this week and how tough it is to fit all the shows in when they all have the same curtain times, so he made this special performance happen. One midnight show only. We show up at 11:50PM and the theatre isn’t just buzzing, it’s LOUD in the orchestra seats. That's what happens when everyone knows each other in the audience…it was basically every other current broadway show casts in each row…Dear evan hansen behind us, @beaniefeldstein (the besssst) in front of us…kate burton two rows up, brian stokes mitchell (my second time talking to him in two days OMG) to my left, and the cast of Indecent to our right. It was magical. It must have been so much fun to do a play in front of that crowd. And they did not disappoint.
