I know I'm late to the party on this one but I loved @msannabiller's #TheLoveWitch. She wrote, produced, directed, designed, even wrote music for this love letter to late 1960's/early 70's feminist / cult cinema. But to categorize the film as a lovingly detailed homage would diminish the heart of the film which is an incredibly smart comment on female sexuality and the complicated relationship men have with it. Beyond the spectacular design, it's the writing and superb performance of @msrobinsun, who quietly conveys paragraphs with a witchy glance while channeling Barbara Eden, Edwige Fenech and Naomi Watts in the first hour of Mulholland Drive, that make the film stay in your mind long after it's over. The film exists in its own universe, you just have the drink the potion and let it take you on a ride. I can't wait to see what @msannabiller does next.
