Since my former bday (1/20) I've been waking up 7am checking news cycle to make sure the world doesn't end. Been my routine since. The way @JamesPoyser texted me this morning was the musical equivalent to war of the worlds.....WHERE IN THE HELL DID THIS BRILLIANCE COME FROM!!?????!!!! like you KNOW it's some ish when I'm geeked like this. Yeah imma alienate the "can you show us love by posting blah blah on your social media?" crew. Sorry folks, idgaf right now. I live a life in which music was all I know. To a numbing level. Like what Bread, Water, Toothpaste, Rugs, & working elevators are to you? That's what music is to me. Meaning something so common you take it for granted like love. This is NOT to say I don't love your product or you as an artist. But for me to come out my arse and write a paragraph (even my book editor will prolly be like "oh I see you can write an endorsement but you can't heed deadlines for an overdue book huh?) ---sorry right now I'm giving zer0s. Feelings might get hurt. Don't take it personal. You better wake me up out of my coma the way that @Micki_Miller just woke me outta mine. This #SummertimeChi album got me cowered up in the corner like "WTF!!!!"---I'm late to the party (came out 2016) but I assure all "latepass Quest!!" a-holes that my endorsement gonna reach out way further than yours will (#NonHumbleBrag)---look, it might not change your life, you might try to hit me w "blah blah is better"---but for where I was like 53 mins ago watching the news sinking praying for divine political intervention---to James telling me "LISTEN TO THIS!!!"---this is my creative 2017 wake up call. The same call Slum gave me in 97. Bilal gave me 98. Jill 99. Little Brother in 2001---man...#QuestCanGoALilOverboardButHeDontGAFRightNow.
