Awh my heart right now is ?Im going to share my most favorite story of one of the best dogs in the world ( Also, a relative to Rin Tin Tin )! In 2001, my family and I took a camping trip to Mexico and brought along our German shepherd named Checkum. It was a beautiful camping area surrounded by kind-hearted people. There were only good vibes in the camping area...or so we thought. Apparently, there were a couple of men who approached each camp site in a very friendly manner. Unfortunately, once they got into close proximity to the campers they threatened them and ended up stealing their belongings and money. When the men got to my family's camp site, Checkum immediately responded and went ballistic... if you ever heard him bark, you would not want to mess with him! He was trained to attack on command. Fortunately for us, these robbers ran off immediately. We later found out what the men were up to from the other campers. There have been numerous times where checkum sensed a negative environment and responded to it. Thank you for ALWAYS making me feel safe throughout my childhood and for being my protector for 14 years. I loved you until the moment you died in my arms today! I am heartbroken, but I know you are no longer in pain. RIP checky boy! ?? #RIP
