SENIOR SUNDAY! @susiesseniordogs wants to tell you about Bacchus! 7.5 year old Bacchus has good looks and a great personality. Unfortunately, he is living at the Humane Society in Naples, Florida and has been overlooked by adopters because of his reserved nature. Bacchus has been in the shelter for three years now. He doesn't come say hi and wag his tail when people come by, instead he just calmly relaxes in the outdoor part of his kennel. Visitors assume Bacchus isn't interested in them, when really it's that Bacchus has just seen so many people walk by him he doesn't even bother to get his hopes up anymore.
Bacchus is a big boy weighing in at 75lbs. But he is calm, quiet and a gentle giant. He has had multiple different doggy kennel mates during his long time stay and has gotten along with all of them. And he plays nicely with all dogs. Bacchus doesn't like to be pulled/pushed unexpectedly towards his back end, which is where his arthritis pain is. He is sensitive there. This is why he would do best in a home without kids because young kids tend to not have boundaries and might not be as gentle with him. He is is housebroken and never potties in his kennel. He knows many commands including sit, no, stay, shake, down. He also walks nicely on a leash and doesn’t pull.
Overall, Bacchus is in great health. He is just a low maintenance guy looking for a warm bed to sleep on and a family to be loyal to. Someone who will give him the love he deserves!
