Six weeks ago the sky got a little brighter, and my world got dimmer. Our family lost its brightest light; a wonderful mother, and the worlds most amazing grandma ever. She was at nearly every climbing event I've ever attended, from my first JCCA (now USA Climbing) Youth Nationals in 1999, to winning the Vail World Cup in 2008, to my last ABS National Championships in 2015. She had the best laugh of any laugh I've ever heard, and the most intense Wisconsin accent out there. I used to brag about it to my friends, and call her out of the blue just so they could hear it. Wish I could hear it today, on this bittersweet day of celebrating the incredible women who raised us. I've called my mom twice, and her accent is a close second. ❤️? #TheJohnsons
