Sometimes you gotta get back to the foundation of the rawness. We are still working on #ENDGAME. I'm trying to embrace the human element of musicianship. A lot of our musicians are putting more work in the technical presentation and totally ignoring the tone and feel. Like i love watching the @harlemglobetrotters but not the whole game of being nothing but tricks & comedy. People don't trust feel and silence and space when they play. THAT's the mark of an ace musician to me. What they DON'T play. Here I'm explaining to Mark to play like an amateur 8th grader. Give me the technical wrong notes. Why? It's what the song calls for. Don't insert yourself into the song waiting for the moment to jack the spotlight. Let the song shine y'all. Embrace wrong notes. I embrace loose feel. Gotta get back to the element.
